Notes From The Awareness: 186

True power is spiritual, not physical or mental.

Please discuss. How does this play out in life?

I’ll start us out. We tend to think of power as something we exercise over others, the ability to get others to do what we want them to do. We achieve this control, interpersonal power, in various ways—physical force and intimidation, mental or emotional manipulation, persuasion, passive aggressive behavior, legal pressure. When we succeed in directing someone else’s actions, we may feel strong and powerful.

On an inner level, we may empower ourselves through personal mastery, guiding our own actions through awareness and control of our thoughts and emotions. This is personal power, charting our life course based on our desires and aligning our beliefs, thoughts, and deeds to that end. We feel powerful and grounded when we handle ourselves well.

At a yet deeper level is spiritual power, allowing the divine to work through us, leveraging all the resources of creation for benevolent purposes. In this mode, we co-create with the divine, allowing loving consciousness to direct our actions and manifest results in our third-dimensional physical world. We sense the power of love inhabiting us and thrill at this connection.

Today’s message reminds me that I am most powerful when I allow the divine to inspire my actions. When I am willing to cede control to the consciousness of love, a force greater than me can work through me, enhancing outcomes and realizing results I might never have been able to imagine. I operate in the interest of the highest good when I let spiritual power flow through me into the physical realm. This conscious collaboration with the divine fills me with joy.

How about you? What makes you feel powerful and why?
