Look for the light.
Life is definitely assorted. Some things make us happy while others don’t. Often situations may not go precisely as we might wish. Other times we’re pleasantly surprised by an outcome.
It’s easy to focus on unwanted or difficult situations. They make a strong negative emotional impression in our brain. We may find ourselves mentally revisiting them unbidden or when a something similar occurs.
Our brains don’t register the positive as strongly. If we want a positive mindset to inhabit our consciousness, we may need to train our thoughts. We can do this by deliberately savoring happy events. We also can school ourselves to recognize and focus on the positive.
Today’s message encourages me to look toward the light. When I dwell on what makes me happy, it’s harder for what I perceive as negative to impact me.
Please reflect and share. How do you focus on the good?
