NOTES FROM THE AWARESS: 372

Mistakes refocus our awareness.

Please reflect and share. How does this play out in your life?

We all make mistakes and have accidents. Often they will catch us unaware. Things seem to be going along fine and then…boom! Our attention is immediately drawn to our lapse.

Some mistakes occur consciously; we believe we are making the correct decision at the time. The unwisdom of our choice may not reveal itself until later. Other lapses or accidents are apparent as soon as they occur.

Whether recognized immediately or later on, mistakes represent an opportunity to shift our focus, perceptions, and consequent actions. They clearly bring to mind the need for change. When we do encounter accidents or errors in judgment, we want to emphasize the desired change rather than recrimination and regret.

Today’s message advises me to treat myself and others kindly when mistakes occur. When I keep my focus on what I want to happen in the future, rather than on dissecting the error, my desired outcome is more likely to manifest. Mistakes and accidents are my opportunity to consciously choose something else.

How about you? How do you view mistakes?
