Notes From The Awareness: 142

Personality can be a function of resistance.

Please discuss. How does this play out in life?

I’ll start us out. We like to think of ourselves as a nation of individualists, independent free thinkers. We’re proud to hold our own opinions and cherish our quirks and unique traits. After all, they help define us and make us special. We see them as part of what illustrates our worth, what sets us apart from others.

We are all part of a divine whole, each of us a unique expression of divinity. As such, our differences have value and help add richness to the overall collective conscious experience. When we feel secure, loved, and supported by creation, we don’t strive to either be or not be like others; we act and live in a way that feels natural to us, and we wish for others to do so as well. We trust in the overall benevolence of existence.

If we feel less trusting about our place in creation, we compare ourselves to others. We celebrate the cult of the personality in an attempt to justify our worth. We long to be special, somehow more valuable than others, and in doing so we distance ourselves consciously from divine connection. We resist the truth that we are all equal and interwoven in conscious love.

Today’s message reminds me to not get distract by my own or others’ personalities. To do so only emphasizes my perception of the differences between us. I will feel happier and more harmonious if I focus on our shared commonalities. When I value our collective divine nature, I honor myself and all creation. My worth is not defined by being different, but rather by my interconnection.

How about you? How do you view the differences between individuals?
