Invest yourself wisely
Many of us feel that our time is at a premium. It may seem somehow like there is never enough time to do all the things we need to want to do.
We’re often busy and perhaps overly busy. We juggle relationships, children, jobs, family obligations, hobbies, and self-care, which all too often falls last.
If we were challenged to do so, we might not be able to accurately account for how we spend our days. We may simply feel stressed about getting everything done.
However, were we to note our activities for a single day, we might be surprised that what we invest our personal time and effort into is different than what we might think.
Screen time may consume a large portion of our non-work time, even larger than we might imagine.
Discussing things that we can’t readily change—political wrangling, gossip about others, complaining—may also consume more of our energy than we realize. Or we may spend time talking about issues rather than acting on them.
And then there are the things we do to please others, whether or not we enjoy the activities and whether or not our time and focus makes a positive difference to anyone.
Today’s message advises me to be more aware of how I spend myself. When I invest more of my time and energy in activities that support my dreams or well-being, I’ll be happier and healthier.
Please reflect and share. How do you invest yourself?
