Limits teach us about ourselves.

Please reflect and share. How does this play out for you?

We generally don’t like constraints on our choices. Roadblocks frustrate us. Absolute freedom to decide, move, and interact as we wish appeals to us.

When we come up against a barrier, often we have an emotional reaction. The current situation also may remind us of a previous one, triggering old baggage. Sometimes our reactions may circumscribe our ability to deal with the situation, further restricting our options.

Today’s message suggests that I can know myself better by examining how I respond to being checked. My habitual response to limits, once identified, then become a conscious choice. I’ll want to make sure my reactions don’t inhibit my responses. How I react to limitations can improve my freedom of choice.

How about you? What’s your typical reaction to being stymied?
