How do you want to grow?
Whether we realize it or not, we’re changing all the time. Body cells die and are replaced. Our thoughts and ideas evolve. Our feelings alter and our emotions flow.
Often this is response to outside stimuli. We encounter difficult or uplifting situations. We meet new folks that we like or dislike. We take in new data that alters our beliefs and perceptions.
But what if we decided to self-direct some of this alteration? What if we decided to shift ourselves to be happier, healthier, or stronger?
This is where self-care comes in. We can eat and drink healthy things in appropriate quantities. Exercise and movement can improve our functional strength and flexibility.
Medicines and or herbs and supplements can help keep our physical body balanced and working well. Contemplative practices can keep our minds healthy and relaxed.
Additionally, we can intentionally seek our experiences that will grow our minds. Learning a new skill, trying a different hobby, or conversing with folks who may not necessarily share our viewpoints all can expand our abilities and perspectives.
Today’s message reminds me that I’m in charge of my own personal growth. I can decide how I’d like to grow myself and what actions I’m willing to take to do so.
Please reflect and share. What aspect of yourself would you like to grow?
