Notes From The Awareness: 232

The more we know ourselves, the more we know the world.

Please discuss. How does this play out in life?

I’ll start us out. In this time of social distancing, many of us have looked for ways to interact with and understand the outside world. We’re consuming the news more and and following social media closely. Sometimes we’re almost obsessional about keeping up with what’s going on in the outside world. Often this outside focus doesn’t calm us or make us happier. It does however distract us from how we feel inside.

Our solitude offers us a unique opportunity, one we’ve likely not had previously. All our involuntary alone time is the perfect chance to go internal, capitalizing on the gift of the me-focus time we’ve been given. In delving into ourselves, we discover our inner state is mirrored in the outside world. When we feel good about ourselves, we are apt to find happy occurrences going on around us. If we’re troubled or internally conflicted, we’re more likely to notice chaos and discord in the world.

Today’s message reminds me that inner knowledge and self-acceptance are the keys to transforming my perception of everything around me. When I’m willing to give my inner self a good dust and polish, I find the world around me looks brighter, too. I get what I project. As within, so without.

How about you? How does your inner state color your perception of the world?
